Troubleshooting

Why does Nucleus keep asking me to login?

Scenario:
"When I log in at my main index I get the Admin Area link on my skin. When I click on that I have to log in. When I click on something in my admin area I have to log in. When I change something in my admin area I have to log in. How can I make this stop?"

Solution:
Please follow the instructions outlined in the FAQ on how to make Nucleus work over subdomains to fix the cookie problem.

If that does not solve your problem, check that you have defined all your paths in the same manner, e.g. if you have used http://www.mydomain.com/ in your Global Settings, make sure you have http://www.mydomain.com/ in your blog settings, config.php and index.php.

Explanation:
It appears that you have a cookie problem. Nucleus uses cookies to authenticate users when they login. Sometimes sites that use more than one version of a domain (e.g. http://www.mydomain.com/, http://mydomain.com/, http://subdomain.mydomain.com/) run into problems when they try to navigate across domains, e.g. navigating from http://www.mydomain.com/ to http://mydomain.com/.

This is because when you initially logged in at http://www.mydomain.com/, Nucleus gave you a cookie from "www.mydomain.com". Then, when you try to visit http://mydomain.com/, Nucleus looks for a cookie from "mydomain.com" but can't find one because you got your cookie from "www.mydomain.com", so Nucleus will ask you to login again.
