How do I fix the "error while moving uploaded file" problem with images?
Scenario:
"I have tried to add a picture to my post by pressing the icon in the formatting bar but I ran into a problem while uploading. It says 'Error while moving uploaded file'."
Solution:
Check the following in the "Media/Upload Settings" section of your global settings:
- Correct media directory - if incorrect (e.g. is not a real directory, or is not writable, etc) you will see some error messages here. Edit your
config.phpfile to fix this. - File upload is allowed - select "Yes" if not already enabled.
- Your image is not bigger than the maximum file upload size - if it is, either resize the image or increase the file size allowed.
- Check that your host if there are any settings that would limit/forbid/obstruct file uploads using PHP.
