Troubleshooting

What does the "filetype not allowed" error mean?

Scenario:
"When I try to upload a file through the media icon, I get the following error message:

Error
Sorry, this filetype is not allowed.

Error message of "filetype not allowed" in Nucleus.

What can I do to upload my file?"

Solution:
Make sure you have allowed files of the type you are trying to upload in your Nucleus Global Settings. You can access your Global Settings by clicking on the menu item under 'Management' in your Nucleus admin area:

Click on the menu item in the red box to access your Global Settings.

Scroll down to the 'Media/Upload Settings' and make sure the file type you are trying to upload is listed in the 'Allow File Types for Upload' text field. For example, if you are trying to upload a .pdf file, you would need to make sure "pdf" is listed there:

Allowed file types for upload settings.

Make sure each file type is separated with a comma so Nucleus can understand your instructions! Now you should be able to upload your file to Nucleus.
