First, download the plugin file. Unzip it, and upload the PluginName.php file (and in some cases the 'pluginname' directory) to your...
yoursite.com/nucleus/plugins/...directory on the server where your Nucleus blog resides. Then go to Plugins from the admin area, select the plugin you want to install from the dropdown list, and click "Install Plugin".

To use this plugin, just follow the instructions inside (the code of) the plugin file or on the webpage where you downloaded the plugin. Once a plugin is installed, you often need to call it in a skin or a template with <%PluginName(option1,option2)%> . NOTE: When you get to that step, pay attention to the plugin name, because it's Case Sensitive.
If your admin area looks like the following, then Nucleus cannot detect the plugin file. Check that you have uploaded the plugin .php file properly and into the correct directory.
