You can use any desktop blogging application that works over XML-RPC (as w.bloggar and Ecto do). The only thing you need to know is that the xml-rpc server of your Nucleus installation is located at http://yourdomain.com/nucleus/xmlrpc/server.php.
w.bloggar
Detailed instructions for setting up w.bloggar for use with Nucleus can be found at the w.bloggar website.
Ecto
For Ecto, the only thing you need is the location provided above. Just pay attention to the fact that the field where you need to provide it is called 'API End Point' in Ecto for Windows, and 'XML-RPC' in Ecto for Mac OS X.
FeedDemon
FeedDemon is something different. It doesn't work over the above-mentioned XML-RPC server but instead utilizes the bookmarklet that comes with Nucleus. It's quite easy to setup, actually:
http://www.yoursite.com/nucleus/bookmarklet.php?blogid=1&logtext=$ITEM_DESCRIPTION$&loglink=$ITEM_LINK$&loglinktitle=$ITEM_TITLE$
All right, now you can blog items by right-clicking on them inside FeedDemon and selecting the 'Blog This News Item' popup menu option. Or, if you ticked off the 'Set as default' box, by just using the keyboard shortcut CTRL+SHIFT+B.
Post2Blog
Download version 1.22 or greater of Post2Blog (contains fixes to make it work with Nucleus) and use the http://yourdomain.com/nucleus/xmlrpc/server.php URL.
